Overview

Launching your Preview App or any custom Enterprise iOS App on your Apple device brings a message "Untrusted Enterprise Developer". This article outlines what this means and how you can solve it by trusting an Enterprise Developer.

Diagnosis

You got the following error message:

Untrusted Enterprise Developer "iPhone Distribution:  <enterprise_developer_name>" has not been trusted on this iPhone. Until this developer has been trusted, their enterprise apps will not be available for use

upon trying to download

• the Preview app or
• a custom Enterprise iOS App distributed privately through the Private App Store (PAS).

You got this message since you are trying to install a custom enterprise app signed via an enterprise certificate that has not yet been trusted by you.

Testing

You will be able to successfully install and launch this custom Enterprise iOS App without getting this error message.

For example, for the BiznessApps PreviewApp the setting on your device should look like the one in the following screenshot:
