Overview
You noticed the following message "Issue: Missing or inaccurate target audience information" from Google for your Android app. This article explains why this occurs and how you can work around it.
Diagnosis
You found your app's publishing status changed to Removed with the following message delivered by email or displayed in your Google Developer Console:
Publishing status: Removed
Your app has been removed due to a policy violation. This app won’t be available to users until you submit a compliant update.
Issue: Missing or inaccurate target audience information
Your app will be removed from Google Play for one of the following reasons:
- You have not yet completed the Target audience and content section of the Play Console for your app; OR
- You completed the Target audience and content section but your app was previously rejected due to inaccurate target audience information.
This issue occurred due to incomplete or inaccurate information in the Target Audience section. When creating a new app or performing an app update, you should declare your app’s target age group by filling in the Target Audience and Content section.
Solution
- Complete or resubmit the Target Audience and Content section by following the steps in the Manage target audience & app content settings KB article.
- Once the configuration is completed, Save and publish your app. If you are uncertain about the updating procedure on Google Play Store, you can review the Update your apps KB article.
Testing
You will be able to get your Android app published without getting the same error message.
