Overview
You received an error "there was a problem sending out your push notification" upon trying to send an iOS Push Notification. This article explains why this occurs and how you can resolve it by rebuilding the push notification certificate.
Diagnosis
One of the most common errors received while there's a problem with your Push Notification is:
There was a problem sending out your push notification.
In the screenshot below you can see in the Manage -> Push Notifications this error message, just after you've tried to compose and send a new notification.
This means the push notification certificate for this app, which was created in Apple Developer during the upload process, is either faulty or has expired (as it does after one year).
This certificate is the primary connection between the BiznessApps platform and Apple, so when it fails, so do the push notifications.
Prerequisites
- A published iOS application.
- Reseller Account
Solution
BiznessApps provide a tool that allows you to quickly rebuild these push notifications certificates on your own.
Please follow the steps outlined in the Rebuilding an iOS/Apple Push Notification Certificate KB articles.
Testing
