Overview
You experienced issues with language characters not loaded properly after exporting a .csv file from our Real Estate or Golf Course tab. This problem can be resolved easily using Google Docs to fix the file encoding issues, as explained in this article.
Diagnosis
After opening the .csf file exported from Real Estate or Golf Course features tabs you will notice characters not loading as expected:
Solution
Google Docs provides a free and simple workaround to correct the encoding issues. Follow these steps:
- Download the .csv file from your CMS.
- Launch Google Sheets.
- Click File > Import.
- Upload the .csv file to Google Sheets selecting Create new spreadsheet.
- Check that the content is correct in Google Sheets as seen in the example below:
- Click File > Download as > Microsoft Excel (.xlsx).
Testing
Open up the new file in Excel and the content should display in the correct language (as seen in the before and after screenshots below):
