This information below answers FAQs (frequently asked questions) about the beta release of the publishing option: Enterprise Apps.
A month ago, we released our new publishing option: Enterprise apps! This exciting addition to our platform means Enterprise clients can publish internal iOS apps that require no review process. The 30-day beta release has generated some great feedback, from your successes, issues, and ideas for implementation.
The trial period for Resellers to publish Enterprise apps has now ended, but Enterprise clients can continue publishing an unlimited number at no additional charge.
What Features Can Be Used in Enterprise Apps?
All of our features are available for Enterprise apps, besides push notifications. It's not possible to send push notifications from these apps, simply because that would require them to go through the normal Apple upload and review process, where the necessary certificates are created in Apple Developer. These apps go straight to the consumer, so there's no upload process at all.
What If I'm a Reseller and I Want to Take Advantage of This Opportunity?
If you're interested in signing up for the Enterprise program, just reach out to us via email and we can put you in touch with a business development team member to discuss how the program works.
If I've Already Published and Distributed My Enterprise App, Will It Still Work Now That the Trial Period Has Ended?
Definitely! Your app won't stop functioning just because the trial is over. You can continue distributing the URL for installation. But keep in mind, we won't develop further for existing Enterprise apps that were published during the beta release.
I'm an Enterprise Client. How Should I Go About Targeting Industries with Enterprise Apps?
These apps are a great opportunity to skip the troubles of approval. For clients who may not be willing to wait for the time it takes to get an iOS app live, Enterprise is the way to go. In particular, small businesses with tech-reliant employees can benefit hugely from these apps. This gives them an in-house solution to update employees and post relevant content without the risk of outsiders downloading their app and seeing sensitive info.
I've Been Experiencing Issues with This. Why Isn't It Working Perfectly Yet?
Since this was a beta release, we essentially enabled an unpolished version to let our customers test it out and send feedback. We've got plenty, and we're making necessary improvements each day!
