Overview
Apple rejected your iOS app submitted by your Individual Account for not complying with the Apple App Store 4.2.6 and/or 5.2.1 Review Guidelines. This article explains why this occurs and what you can do to work around it.
Diagnosis
Apple rejected your iOS app for not complying with the following Apple guidelines:
- 4.2.6
Apps created from a commercialized template or app generation service will be rejected unless they are submitted directly by the provider of the app’s content.
- 5.2.1
Apps should be submitted by the person or legal entity that owns or has licensed the intellectual property and other relevant rights and is responsible for offering any services provided by the App.
This is because you haven't proved that the account is indeed owned by the person or legal entity that owns or has licensed the intellectual property and other relevant rights and is responsible for offering any services provided by the App.
Prerequisites
- Mobile App submitted to Apple Store from an individual developer account.
Solution
- First, check that you have used the correct Apple Team (check the 'This Developer Team Has Already Been Used To Submit Apps.' Error During Publishing IOS App KB article for more details.
- If the above doesn't work, you have to reply to Apple's rejection by attaching documents that prove that you are the owner of App’s business.
Although there's not a specific format for the documents that will prove that required by Apple, we recommend you submit legal documents. From our experience, business licenses tend to work best. Here are some other examples of additional documentation that can help in getting your client's app approved by Apple:
-
Any formal documentation (i.e., registration documents) linking the developer to the business.
-
A bank statement with the business name and possibly the developer's name
- Internet screenshots proving that the account owner is connected with the app
Notes:
-
BiznessApps does not submit documents on your behalf.
-
If apps get rejected because of failing to comply with these guidances, you will have to deal with Apple directly to resolve it.
-
BiznessApps can only provide guidance during this process.
Testing
Once you submit the data that prove that your account is related to this app, you will not get this rejection error message from Apple and your app will be uploaded on the Apple Store (unless there are other pending issues too).
