Overview
Taking the right screenshots can be a bit daunting especially when the correct image resolution has to be used depending on the device. The screenshots are used in the App Store to provide visual images to the end-user so they can see features of the app before downloading them. You can use 3 to 5 screenshots
This article provides a brief overview of how to use the Screenshot tool in the Publish step.
Solution
Checking the iOS option during the Publish step makes the iPad option available for selection.
If the iPad option is also enabled, additional screens will be displayed for iPad screenshots.
There are two methods to add images for publishing screenshots:
Method 1: Choose File or Select Image
This method allows you to add customized images.
-
Choose File - opens the file browser to select the image.
-
Select Image - opens the BiznessApps library where existing images may be stored.
Once the image has been added using any of the options above, additional options are presented by hovering over the image and clicking on the three dots (...):
-
Edit - takes you to the library to upload or change the screenshot.
-
Download - allows you to download the image to the local device.
-
Delete - the image is removed from here, but will still be available in the library to re-add if required.
Method 2: Take Screenshots
This option allows you to take screenshots directly from the app via the App Preview.
-
Select Take Screenshots from the Publish page. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) screenshots are required.
-
Select the screenshot to use (e.g., 1 to 5). In the example below, 5 is selected. Click Take Screenshot, then click Apply (the Apply button appears after the screenshot is taken).
-
To replace a screenshot, select a screenshot that has been captured (1 is selected in this case). Click Retake, then click Apply (the Apply button appears after the screenshot is taken).
Those are the two methods that can be used to add screenshots to your app. Once the required screenshots are taken, ensure to click Save (located at the top right of the screen).
Edit, Download, and Delete
There is an alternative option to pull up the Edit, Download, and Delete features.
-
You can opt to Select All, select one, or select multiple images.
Note: The Edit option only appears if one image is selected.
-
A pop-up appears at the bottom of the screen. Select the appropriate action (i.e., Edit, Download, or Delete) to use.
