This article shares the process of unpublishing apps and customizing the inactive message that users see when accessing apps that have been unpublished or deactivated.
Always use the Unpublish option to deactivate apps. It immediately disables it and sends your original app credits back.
Do not delete a live app from your Reseller Dashboard because this redirects the users to the Bizness Apps Preview App login screen. Unpublishing completely disables the apps, so there is no reason to delete them.
If you intend on canceling your subscription with BiznessApps, be sure to customize your inactive message before your account is canceled. You can only edit this message with an active subscription.
Once your apps are unpublished, you can remove their listing from the App Store and Google Play.
Refer to the following sections for:
Customizing the Inactive Message for Unpublished Apps
You can change the text of the inactive message that users see when accessing apps that have been unpublished. The same message appears for all unpublished apps in your reseller account. Therefore, it is important to make it generic.
Refer to customizing the inactive message for unpublished apps to learn more about the specific steps.
Note: The customized message will only work for apps running Chestnut or later. Older apps display the default inactive screen.
- Navigate to My Apps in the Reseller Dashboard.
- Click on Published.
- Click the triple dot icon '...' at the bottom right of the app that you wish to unpublish.
- Select Edit > Status from the pop-up menu.
- The Status section appears. Click Unpublish separately for each platform (iOS, Android, or Web App).
- A confirmation pop-up appears. Click Unpublish to confirm and deactivate the app.
After deactivation users attempting to launch the app, see the following screen with the message: This app is no longer being maintained due to non-payment on behalf of the business.
Reactivating Unpublished Apps
Reactivate your app by publishing it at any point for each platform individually (iOs, Android, or Web). Please note that a credit will be deducted for each platform. For more information, refer to the article about Publish Step.
