Overview
The Website feature allows you to build your app in a way that it can integrate a web page or live streams into your app or any stuff that we don't have natively built-in (eg it can be useful if you don't know how to create and build a blog).
The Website app feature is especially handy for promoting social media pages like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, OpenTable — or any other web pages/websites that don't contain Flash.
You can also offer space in the app for local businesses to advertise their website through the app.
This feature is excellent for industries:
- Restaurants
- Nonprofits and charities
- Schools
Solution
Adding the Website Feature
To enable this feature, all you need is a website URL.
-
From the CMS Go to Create > Build, then click +Add by FEATURES.
-
Choose the Website feature from the menu, then click Select.
-
Name your feature, then click Add. Your new feature now appears in the left-side menu.
Customizing the Content
Navigate to Create -> Build -> <Your_WebSite_Feature's_Name> -> Content menu.
From this tab, you can rename the feature, add website views, and enable options.
-
Screen Info:
-
Screen/Feature Name: This is the name that appears in the app's feature menu (e.g., "Facebook" as opposed to "Web Site").
-
Feature Icon: The icon that displays in the app's feature menu.
-
-
Settings: Click the slider to enable specific options.
-
Navigation Bar: A navigation bar appears at the bottom of this feature when this setting is enabled.
-
Website Views: Click Add WebView.
-
Complete the fields below, then click Save. Repeat this process for each website.
-
Name: Give your website a name.
-
URL: Add the direct link to the website here.
-
Open in a new browser window: Turn on this option if you would like your site to open in the phone's browser, rather than within the app. This is critical for web pages that accept donations, as Apple requires these sites to launch in Safari.
-
Allow Printing: Turn on this option if you would like users to be able to print from the app.
-
Hybrid Browser: Turn on this option to use a native version of Safari or Chrome to load the website. This setting can not be used in conjunction with the printing option.
-
Thumbnail Image: Upload a thumbnail image (200 x 200px in PNG format) for this Website.
-
Custom Design
If you wish to create a custom design for this feature instead of using the Global Design, you can do so that under the Custom Design tab. Check the Overriding The Global Design For A Specific App Feature KB article for more information.

Testing
You will now be able to find your Website feature under the list of active features. Just navigate to Create -> Build -> <name_of_Website_feature>.
If you have added a WebView already, you will find an item under the Content tab which can be edited.
For example, if you have enabled the open in a new browser window option, once you click on that Webview on your app, you will get the following message:
If you click on 'Yes', the URL link of this Webview will open up using your phone's browser and it won't open within the app.
