Overview
To publish your app on the Apple Store with your Apple Developer Account, you need to enter an app-specific password generated. This article provides the process of generating an app-specific password but also viewing and revoking the app-specific passwords you might already have.
Diagnosis
You are asked to provide during the app publishing process of your iOS App an app-specific password.
Thus if you don't know it, you either want to create/generate a new one, or use the ones you already have, or even revoke a certain password.
Prerequisites
- Apple Developer Account
Solution
Generating an App-Specific Password
Follow the procedure outlined in the Using app-specific passwords KB article in the 'How to generate an app-specific password' Section.
It is worth mentioning here that the app-specific password is 16 characters long (4 tuples of 4 characters each separated with a hyphen sign)
Note: If you do not see the option to generate app-specific passwords, you will need to enable two-factor authentication, which is different than two-step verification.
Managing Your App-Specific Passwords
Follow the procedure outlined in the Using app-specific passwords KB article in the 'How to manage app-specific passwords' Section
Note: You will not be able to see the actual password, but you can view the label you entered and the date it was created.
