Overview
When you attempt to complete the form for publishing your app to the Apple Store, you either receive an error that says "Invalid Application Specific Password" or you are asked for a 16-digit code (e.g. XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX), which is the Application Specific Password necessary to complete the submission process.
This article explains how to either create/generate a new password or manage the passwords you have.
Prerequisites
- Apple Developer Account
Solution
Create an App-Specific Password
- Follow the procedure outlined in the Using app-specific passwords Apple KB article in the 'How to generate an app-specific password' Section.
NOTE: The app-specific password is 16 characters long - 4 tuples of 4 characters each separated with a hyphen sign, e.g. XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX - Copy the resulting app-specific password for use in the application submission process. See the How to fill the BiznessApps CMS Publication Form for iOS Apps article for full details.
Note: If you do not see the option to generate app-specific passwords, you will need to enable two-factor authentication, which is different than two-step verification.
Managing Your App-Specific Passwords
Follow the procedure outlined in the Using app-specific passwords Apple KB article in the 'How to manage app-specific passwords' Section
NOTE: You will not be able to see the actual password, but you can view the label you entered and the date it was created.
